The first Pepsi-Cola was created by Caleb D. Bradham (1866-1934), a pharmacist from New Bern, North Carolina. Hoping to replicate Coca-Cola’s recent success, Bradham dubbed his 1898 sweet cola-flavored soda Pepsi-Cola. The drink became so popular that Bradham founded the Pepsi-Cola company in 1902.
